Built Up Roof System Repair and Replacement Services
A built-up roofing system (or BUR) is a type of flat roofing made of multiple layers of asphalt alternated with ply sheets. These layers are topped with a sealant cap sheet or asphalt giving it excellent weather and damage resistance. BUR is typically done atop the insulation layer over the roof’s surface.
A popular choice for flat or low-slope roofs, this system has been used for over 100 years in the U.S. The multiple layers that comprise a built-up roofing system can be hot applied or utilizing cold-applied adhesives and creates an excellent barrier against water, which is a big issue for Northeast Ohio commercial and industrial building roofs. Typically these systems can last up to 20 years with proper installation and regular inspection and maintenance.
Roberts Roofing works on many types of flat roofing and has installed dozens of BUR systems in Northeast Ohio. We provide a free initial inspection so we can discuss all your options with you and go over the best roofing solutions for your building based on usage, potential damage, and weather.
